10 T-Shirt Transformations

For Transfiguration this week at Hogwarts, the students get to transform a plain old t-shirt into something new and exciting. This t-shirt can be made to celebrate the World Cup or the Fourth of July or some other summer celebration in your neck of the woods. Here are a few ideas for T-shirt transformations.

Star Stamp T-Shirt
I like this ingenious idea of using corrugated cardboard for a unique star stamp! Did a wizard think of this or what?

10 minute T-Shirts
How about these cute and easy t-shirts from Tater Tot and Jello. 10 minutes? Love that.

I love this Patriotic Shirt from I love to Create. Tie dying is actually one of the easiest spells you can learn! I am serious! Find a few of our easy tie dying tips here

Good luck casting your spell on the boring white shirts of the world! I can't wait to see who wins the House Cup for Week 3.  Remember to send us your photos of all your Hogwarts Activities. Pin It

Super Fun Summer Time Games

Here are some more the activities that the Hogwarts Students will be participating in this week.

Glowstick Capture the Flag

Here are some basic Capture the Flag Instructions and some specific Glow in the Dark ones.

Drip Drip Drench
This version uses a cup, but we have used a large sponge in the past.

Instructions:
Grab the neighborhood kids and a cup of water to play this wet version of Duck, Duck, Goose. Instead of saying, "duck, duck" the child who is It says, "drip, drip" as he or she drips a little water on each head around the circle. Instead of saying "goose," the child says "Drench!" and pours the rest of the cup of water on another child's head as the two of them then race around the circle to see if It can get back to the child's spot before he or she gets tagged.

Rock Stacking
Yep, this game is as simple as it sounds. Get out in nature, find some rocks and stack them. Compete to see who can get the rock stack the highest!

Finally for Arithmancy, the Hogwarts Students get to play this math game. You will be surprised at how addictive and fun this easy game actually is!
Enjoy Week 3 in the Hogwarts Summer Fun Challenge!

Cookies with a Surprise Inside

For Potions this week the Hogwarts Students get to make some type of cookie with a  surprise inside. Here are some ideas to get the magic flowing!

Magic Mint Cookies
Each of these cookies has an Andes Mint inside. Yum!

Candy Surprise Peanut Butter Cookies
These cookies have a miniature Snickers Bar inside.

Pillow Surprise Cookies
Magically insert a marshmallow into these cookies.

Amazingly Yummy Surprise Inside Cookies
I love Rolos! I need to try this one.

Two Cookies For the Price of One
This is one of our family favorites! Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies. I know, right?!

Secret Kiss Cookies
I need to give my husband some of these today!

Chocolate Peppermint Cookies
These sound easy. The surprise is a Keebler Grasshopper Cookie that is covered in white chocolate.

Are your wands ready and your mouths drooling yet?

Even with all of these great ideas our Hogwarts Students are so creative, they will probably think of some surprise fillings of their own!

How about secretly opening up a Double Stuffed Oreo and inserting a Sour Patch Kids Candy! That would be a surprise!
Or how about putting a big yummy piece of dried Mango (the Costco kind) inside a Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie.  I am just thinking crazy here!

Have fun making a surprise package cookie this week and delivering it to friends.

Hogwarts Week 2 House Winner

We have finished our second week of Hogwarts Summer School! It was another fantastic week of learning and fun.

The winner for the House Cup for Week 2 was... (Drum roll please!)

What? No way! It was supposed to be Gryffindor for Week 2! Sorry guys! Ravenclaw stole the cup again. This is how close the scores were:
Ravenclaw 6.5
Gryffindor 6.3
Slytherin 6.2
Hufflepuff 5.9
Yikes! If even one more person completes one more activity, that would change the standings!
Good luck for Week 3. I have never seen the competition this close before.

If you are doing Hogwarts on your own, here are the Activities for Week 3.

Here were some of the fun things that the students were able to do last week.

Creating a worm farm

Making a balloon rocket

Playing Statues with a Flashlight

Reading in a cool secret place

Making a magic soda slushy

Doing a secret service for someone and leaving a sock as evidence- Go House Elves!

Making a collection of 10 items and writing a comic strip.

Some of the Hogwarts Students even got to play Quidditch with the Harlem Globetrotters!

And here is fun water balloon photo that I forgot to post last week. Great job Hogwarts Students!
